Welcome Members of the Media,

Thank you for your interest in the Press Activities at the 30th Annual IEEE MTT International Microwave Symposium.

MTT IMS2007 media registration is open to working journalists and analysts with commercial news organizations and research firms. This includes editors, reporters, producers, camera crews and still photographers.
Registration for marketing, public relations, advertising, sales, art directors, presidents, vice presidents, managers, and other non-editorial employees of media organizations are not considered working press and will not receive press credentials.

The qualified members of the press are granted full conference passes and a copy of the IMS papers at the end of the event for no charge. We are excited to have you cover this event and look forward to meeting you.

Media badges allow entry to exhibits, keynotes, special interest seminars, educational sessions, the MTT IMS Media Center and press services. Media will only be allowed on the exhibit floor during exhibit hours.

Pre-registered media badges will not be mailed. All badges will be available on-site in the MTT IMS Registration Center, check for location at Moscone Center. When you pick up your press badge, you will be asked to provide a business card and show photo ID.

Limited on-site media registration will be available. Applicants will be required to submit PRINTED copies of the verification materials listed below. Without appropriate verification, media badges will not be issued, no exceptions.

Credential requirements for a MTT IMS2007 media badge:

Print & Newswire Reporters:
To qualify as media, print and newswire journalists must provide:

    • • A copy of your business card with name, editorial title and media outlet's logo.
      • A bylined industry-related article from your publication written by you and published within the last six months (the copy must clearly show the name of your publication and your byline).
      • A copy of the masthead from a current issue of your publication showing your name.

Freelance Journalists and Photographers:
Please note: Freelance writers from unqualified media outlets will not be admitted. Qualification of all media outlets will be determined by MTT IMS2006.

To qualify as media, freelance journalists and photographers must provide:

    • • A letter from a publisher, editor or producer (on their organization
      letterhead) stating that you are covering MTT IMS2006 on assignment for their news organization.
      • A bylined, industry-related article from the publication you’re representing written by you and published within the last six months (the copy must clearly show the name of the publication and your byline).

Online Reporters:
Only journalists with commercial news Web sites qualify for MTT IMS2006 media badges. Sites must be previously established and updated regularly with original and current industry news. Fan sites, blogs, personal Web site writers, designers, editors or creators do not qualify for media badges.

To qualify as media, online reporters must provide:

    • • A copy of your business card with name, editorial title and media outlet's logo.
      • A copy of your online publication with your name and title appearing in an editorial capacity, including a bylined, industry-related article from your publication written by you and published within the last six months (the copy must clearly show the name of the publication and your byline).

Please note that online media must meet all criteria below:

    • • The Web site must have a paid reporting staff of two or more -The Web site must post original, dated, industry-related news at least once per week -Web site content must extend beyond newsletters, links, forums, personal diaries, opinion or personal analysis

Broadcast Journalists & Photographers:
Each member of a broadcast crew must register separately.

To qualify as media, broadcast journalists must provide:

    • • A copy of your business card with name, editorial title and media outlet's logo.
      • A letter from a producer/editor (on company letterhead) stating that you are covering MTT IMS2007 on assignment.

Industry and Financial Analysts:

To qualify as media, analysts must hold an analyst title from a recognized research firm or financial institution and must provide:

    • • A copy of your business card with name, title and company logo.
      • A recent industry-related white paper, briefing, report or bulletin with your byline, published within the last six months. Reports must be relevant to the industry.

MTT IMS reserves the right to revoke previously issued accreditation/registration at any time. Accreditation will not be granted to anyone whose principal purpose for attending MTT IMS events is, in our judgment, for reasons other than covering them as working news media.
